Young Moms
The Dam's Young Moms' Group is a community of young moms, volunteers and staff that seek to be positive and supportive of each other, growing into healthy individuals and families.
Pregnant or parenting girls, age 24 and under, will find support, resources, friendships and a non-judgemental, safe community.
We offer:
- Outreach to teen girls focusing on prevention, healthy relationships and sexuality
- Informal mentoring/counseling for young moms
- Introduction to resources in the community
- Advocacy and assistance in social services, government or legal processes
- Practical support and referral to local care closets
- Weekly programs to meet other young moms, get support and learn together!
- Parenting support and life skills training
- Play groups and programs for children while the moms meet
Our Current Weekly Programs:
Dinner Group - Thursdays 5:30-7:30 pm. Come out with your kids and enjoy a family style dinner followed by discussion-style learning while your kids enjoy their own program as well! This group is located at Meadowvale Community Christian Reformed Church at 2630 Inlake Court.
The Journey - Monday’s 6:45-7:45 pm. The Journey is a group that focuses more on our spiritual journeys. Come out to learn and ask questions in a safe place! This group is located at Cornerstone Community Church, Winston Churchill Blvd.
