Carol ReistExecutive DirectorCarol has been at The Dam since 1999. As a grad of University of Toronto, Erindale College (now known as UTM), Carol began her career working for Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship before coming to The Dam. In 2005, she took on the role of Drop-in Director. As executive director since December 2007, Carol has a passion for the community and the way the community can be involved in the lives of youth and young moms. Ken DryfhoutYouth Programming Director/Youth Culture SpecialistSince November 2003, Ken is the face most youth see in drop-in and outreach programs. With his charisma and education (Masters of Divinity) Ken brings the philosophy of The Dam to our most hurting youth. He oversees and provides direction to all of our youth programs. Robin BemmannYouth Development Coordinator Robin started in April 2006. She has experience working at a youth correctional facility and in youth ministry. Robin co-ordinates the drop-in programs and helps to develop our workshops and other programming to focus on the physical, social, emotional and spiritual well-being of the youth. Melissa BaileyYouth MentorMelissa started working full-time at The Dam in September 2008 but has been a part of The Dam since 2007 as a volunteer and then summer staff. The primary role Melissa plays at The Dam is providing authentic, caring friendship to the youth in our community. She brings a message and presence of belonging to an age group that often hears and experiences messages to the contrary. Jill deJagerYoung Moms CoordinatorJill started in October 2008. Jill has an Applied Science degree from University of Guelph with a child, youth and family major. Monika OzimekYoung Moms MentorMonika started at The Dam in February 2008. Monika has an incredible heart for children, young mothers, and youth. She has had over eight years of experience working with these populations in different contexts. June ParadisAdmin/HRJune stared as a drop-in volunteer in 2000 and worked as the Office Manager from 2003-2004. She volunteered in admin for a bit and then started in her current role in June 2006. June's previous life was as an executive working for the Bank of Montreal. In her new role, June points Carol in the right direction and then works on fundraising. Maureen SawickiDevelopment OfficerMaureen started work at The Dam in 1999 as the Office Administrator. She moved to part-time working on fundraising and finances in the office.
