The Dam is a Christian organization committed to being a welcoming and safe community for youth at-risk. We become a friend and resource to youth and their families by building relationships and providing programs that focus on their physical, social, emotional and spiritual well-being. (A new mission statement was adopted by the Board of Directors at the last Annual General Meeting on April 27th, 2006 to kick-start a ministry-wide "Review & Renew" process of our organization's documents, policies and procedures.) Vision Statement The Meadowvale community will become a “dam”: neighbours will know the youth of their streets; police and youth will have a positive relationship; churches, schools and social service agencies will become partners; families will be embraced; and together the community will be a friend and resource to youth at-risk. Individual youth and the entire youth culture will be engaged and transformed. Others will be inspired to have a similar vision for youth in their communities across Canada. Core Values
